Rainy season is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got to spend the day at home. Discover

In Mallorca, summer is on its way out and autumn is quickly approaching. The temperatures are dropping and the rain could ruin your holiday or weekend away… or not!

Mallorca has a wide variety of things to do if you’re after a fun and exciting day.

Keep reading if you want to find out more.

Go shoppingQ

Shopping can put a smile on anyone’s face. Who doesn’t enjoy treating themselves? Palma is home to the Porto Pi shopping centre, just 30 minutes from Plaza España on bus number 3, towards Illetes.

At this indoor shopping centre, you’ll find hundreds of well-known shops such as Bershka, Zara, H&M, Springfield, Mari Paz…, as well as shops selling accessories, cafés, hairdressers and even a Carrefour where you can buy any food that takes your fancy.

You could also head to El Corte Inglés on Avenidas or Jaime III. You’ll find top of the range brands such as Calvin Klein, Pepe Jeans, Loewe, Desigual and more. There’s also an electronic devices and homeware section.

With so many things to do, time will fly by and you won’t even realise the day is almost over.

Discover the food markets

If you’re a foodie, this is the perfect option for you. In Palma, you’ll find various markets where you can eat for a reasonable price.

The Mercat de Santa Catalina is located in one of the most popular, chic areas in Palma. You can tuck into tapas with a tasty vermouth while enjoying the ambiance and bustling nature of this market.

The Mercat de 1930 is the most recent market in Palma. It’s located on the seafront, next to the well-known club, Tito’s. Here you’ll be able to taste some of the most select and unique tapas dishes, such as Spanish tortilla with Japanese seaweed, different varieties of sushi or even pancakes to add a splash of sweetness to your afternoon.

Visit the Cuevas del Drach

You might have come across an advert for these caves while looking for information about the island before your trip. If it grabbed your attention, a rainy day is the perfect time to explore them. The caves are located in Porto Cristo, just a few kilometres from Alcudia. They can be found 25m underground and are home to some of the island’s most precious treasures: the Lago Martel, considered one of the world’s biggest underwater lakes.

This is a spectacular spot you simply cannot miss out on.

Have a fantastic time

If you’re after a good laugh and a more ‘relaxed’ day, why not try Palma Jump? It’s located in the Can Valero site and is packed with trampolines so you can jump to your heart’s content. You can practice your stunts as if you’re in an action film. What a great option for a rainy day.
