Alcudia is located in the north of the Island of Mallorca and it is famous for its beautiful and popular beaches. Its historic town centre is still ringed by its medieval walls and has maintained its charm and historical value despite the modern renovations.

There are many cultural and leisure activities that take place during the year, and they are distributed throughout the seasons. Any list of the attractions close to Alcudia would have to include the following:

1.- The Port of Alcudia

This is one of the most important ports on the island of Mallorca and welcomes boats from all over the world. There are berths for up to 750 boats to moor here at the same time. You can take boat trips, go on sightseeing tours and practice water sports and other activities from the port.

The beaches in the Bay of Alcudia measure 5 kilometres in length and are the largest in the island.

The beaches and bays include: Playa de Muro, Can Picafort, Playa de la Alcanada, Playa Coll Baix, Playa Sant Joan, Playa Sant Pere, Playa Sa Marina d'Alcudia. There are also a large number of bars, restaurants, shops and a range of accommodation options.

2.- The town of Alcudia

The town of Alcudia, has a pedestrian area that invites you to discover the medieval walls, admire the city gates and to stroll along its cobbled streets with their charming houses. There are many shops selling handcrafts and the traditional products of Mallorca.

The town has many good places to eat, and a wide variety of restaurants. Sports lovers can practice trekking, climbing, mountain biking and a range of water sports.

3.- Nature Reserve of l’Albufera

This is the largest of the wetlands areas and it is the most important internationally, being one of the most emblematic features of the island, located in Alcudia Bay. The park is free to enter, but you will need to obtain a pass, which can be requested at the entrance.

The park has 4 routes to explore: Itinerario des Colombars, Itinerario de Sa Roca, Camí d’Enmig – Ses Puntes and the Itinerario des Cibollar. These routes are intended to show you many of the species of birds and other animals that live in this environment, as well as the flora.

4.- Pollentia, the Roman village

The city of Pollentia is considered today to be the most important archaeological site on the island of Mallorca. It contains the remains of the Roman city of La Portella, which is considered to have been a residential area. The forum or central town square is still in the centre of the city.

The remains of the theatre can still be seen in the southern part of the city, where it is easy to distinguish the different parts, making it one of the most outstanding features of the city. We can also see the temple, the capitolio, a line of shops and the walls.

5.- The beaches of Alcudia

Alcudia has two bays and more than 20 attractive beaches that are enormously popular for their remarkable beauty, transparent waters and fine white sand. They are perfect for sport, playing games or just relaxing.

Some areas are marked by steep cliffs and patches of rocks, while others have extensive areas of fine sand. You can try all types of water sports on these beaches, or you can explore them by trekking, Nordic walking, going running or cycling.

The beaches include: Alcanada, Cala En Poncet, Can Capdebou, Es Barcarès, Es Faralló, Es Morer Vermell, Ses Caletes, S'illot, among others.

6.- The route of the dolphins

You can take boats from the Port of Alcudia that sail along the sea routes where dolphins can often be observed, so that you can see for yourself how they leap out of the water and swim underneath the hull of the boat. This visit starts before the sun is up in the morning, allowing you to also admire the sunrise.

It is important to bear in mind that there can be no 100% assurance that the dolphins will appear, because these are wild animals that do not respond to the actions of humans. However, should the dolphins fail to appear, you will be invited to make the same visit on another occasion free of charge.

7.- Hidropark Alcudia

This is a park that has an enormous range of aquatic activities, with attractions for all ages. There are giant inflatables for children to play with by walking on the water while inside them.

At lunch time you will find a number of restaurants offering hot and cold food. There are also several bars and fast food outlets. There is a track for racing mini-bikes and a shooting range. It is in the Port of Alcudia.

8.- Alcanada Golf Club

This is a fantastic 18-hole course in Puerto Alcudia. It has 18 greens and bunkers, and several challenging tee-offs. It is a very large course and each of the holes offers views of the bay and the lighthouse on the island of Alcanada. The clubhouse is where you will find the Club itself and a large restaurant.
