S’Albufera Natural Park Hidropark

This wetland area is located between the areas of Muro and Sa Pobla and is categorised as a Special Protection Area for Birds, in addition to playing a fundamental role thanks to its biodiversity.

Covering 1650 hectares, it’s one of Mallorca’s treasures.

You can organise a trip around the natural park and it’s a must-see if you’re staying in the Alcúdia area.

If you’re lucky, you’ll see a significant number of animals that live in s’Albufera. Thousands of migratory birds come and spend a season in Mallorca each year.

The flora also plays a significant role in the care and conservation of the park.

Hidropark

This is the only water park in the north of Mallorca. You’ll have a fantastic time enjoying all the slides it has to offer. 40,000 metres of pure fun and home to slides such as the Kamikaze. This park is perfect if you’re after pure adrenaline or have a great time in the wave pool.

The kids will also have a fantastic time in the new “Tritón” area.

The ancient city of Pollentia

One of the most interesting parts of Alcúdia is its ancient Roman city, Pollentia.

This city was founded by the consul Quintus Caecilius Metellus around the year 123 BC and was the capital of the Balearic Islands much before Palma. It covers 12 hectares of land.

Its perfect state of conservation means you can see the Portella. This was the residential area and columns which supported porches and balconies can still be seen.

Today, the theatre that was built to take advantage of the natural unevenness of the land can still be seen perfectly, including the stairs and stands.

For just 2 euros you can spend a fantastic morning learning all you need know about ancient Mallorca.

Playa de Alcúdia
